City of Anacortes, WA: Skagit River Crossing
CRALEY Group has recently successfully achieved another ‘world first’, an Atlantis Hydrotec® Messenger Pipe being delivered across a 500m run in a water pipe running under the Skagit River in Washington State USA for the City of Anacortes.
This link is a part of the 20km trunk route being installed using Atlantis Hydrotec® to deliver a 288 fibre link from the Water Treatment Works right through to the main city Water Tower.
“This is a key development for the city and has already been voted Best City Infrastructure Project locally. I am proud that Anacortes has been able to demonstrate its embracing of leading edge technology for fibre deployment and to achieve a world first with this under-river crossing.”
Fred Buckenmeyer, Public Works Director for City of Anacortes
The remaining links in this project are now being deployed within the trunk water pipe network by the City’s own engineers.
“An under-river slough fibre connection such as this using traditional techniques would not only have proved exceptionally difficult, but also time consuming and very costly. By utilising Atlantis Hydrotec®, the link was completed in just 2 days, in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional techniques.”
Andy Harris, CEO CRALEY Group
