City of Anacortes Head of Public Works visits Fibraigua in Vic

Fred with Joan Vilaseca from Fibriagua

Fred Buckenmeyer, Head of Operations and Public Works for the City of Anacortes in Washington State, USA travelled some 5,500 miles to visit CRALEY Group's Spanish partner, Fibraigua, this week.

The Anacortes City Council recently approved a $265,972 contract with CRALEY Group to purchase its Atlantis Hydrotec solution for a ~20km fibre link connecting the City's water treatment plant on River Bend Road in Mount Vernon to the Whistle Lake Road pump station with Next Generation connectivity. Work on the project in Anacortes is already well underway and Fred travelled to Spain to get a first hand look at a large scale deployment of fibre by utilising the existing water infrastructure, and to have discussions with a like-minded public Water Authority.

“This system is truly remarkable, deploying fibre in record times with minimal civil works and disruption. It is a perfect solution for the city and provides the most cost-effective way for us to move towards city-wide fibre connectivity"

Fred Buckenmeyer

Head of Operations and Public Works, Anacortes WA

“It was fantastic that Fred was able to come over from the USA to see for himself what has been achieved in this very rural part of Spain and to get the opportunity to discuss the deployment of the solution with our Spanish partner, Fibraigua, who have currently deployed over 50km of our solution; with much more in the pipeline!"
